In addition, around 13000 persons were unpaid family workers. Among the employed population, 72% are covered under MPF schemes and 13% are covered under other retirement schemes, such as Civil Service Pension Scheme, and MPF exempted ORSO schemes, etc. Twelve percent of the employed population, most of them domestic employees and employees who are aged above 65 or below 18, are not required to join any local retirement scheme according to law.
