So, in addition to picking up AI skills and knowledge, insurance intermediaries must not ignore the human-centred approach to demonstrate empathy and care about clients’ personal circumstances for soliciting clients’ trust and confidence through humanistic interactions that are anchored on physical presence and in-person conversations. By integrating AI into companies’ internal value- chain activities powered by robotic process automation and data analytics, companies in the financial services sector may anticipate increase of business opportunities capitalising on improved performance in such areas as efficient transaction processing; innovative and customer-centric product development; greater client engagement; and personalised client solutions. Gi ven t ha t emerg i ng oppor t un i t i es are grounded on companies’ ability to find the right balance between conventional legacy systems and ground-break ing bus iness revolutions, financial services companies are bound to face unprecedented challenges encompassing multiple business dimensions. Security risks, for an instance, may arise from increased cybersecurity threats and data privacy restrictions; regulatory requirements may go more stringent to facilitate practical client protection; ethical disputes may emerge against louder calls for risk management; and talent management issues may get worsened due to keener competition for talent with adequate knowledge in AI or advanced technologies, etc. At this point when transformative opportunities vis-à-vis extraordinary challenges are anticipated, CII appreciates the importance of taking initiatives to help our business partners and industry stakeholders to pursue business development in a new landscape where AI can be perceived as either costs or benefits or both. So, CII acknowledges the need to help the financial services professionals to stay ahead of the curve by developing initiatives, especially t r a i n i ng and deve l opmen t p r og r amme enhancement, to align the business practices with what is needed to leverage AI capabilities. Going forward, we look forward to working closely with our members and business partners to support the industry development in a new age when adequate risk management, regulation compliance, talent management, and client relationship building are instrumental to optimising the benefits of AI advancement.
